Specs read from the live Amazon listing and the maker's own sheet where one exists
Our verdict
Buy the VOLPAM Q1 only for short, flat rides, and make sure you pick the right option: on VOLPAM's best-selling Amazon listing, #1 in Amazon's Electric Scooters on October 18, 2026, the Q1 is "Orange-blackcm", "Gray Orange" or "Green-Blackcm", three of 16 color choices that cover nine different scooters. The Q1 has a 350 W motor, 8.5-inch honeycomb tires, a 19 mph top speed and a 187.2 Wh battery that VOLPAM says covers about 15 miles; we estimate 7 to 9 at full speed. It costs $159.98 (as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change), and no certification is stated.

At a glance
How we estimate range
We estimate range by dividing the battery's capacity in watt-hours by 22 to 27 watt-hours per mile. That band comes from the middle half of 32 full-speed range tests that eRideHero and RiderGuide published for 26 commuter scooters, adjusted to a rider of about 175 to 180 lb on city streets with stops and small hills. We have not ridden these scooters ourselves. Makers that publish their test conditions rate range for a 150 to 165 lb rider at about 9 to 10 mph on flat pavement at 77°F; in the full-speed tests, scooters covered a median 59% of the advertised range. You will get less in the cold, on steep hills or if you weigh more, and more if you ride slower.
The numbers
VOLPAM Q1 Electric Scooter is a folding electric scooter that scores 6.4/10 on our editorial rubric, last verified on October 19, 2026. Amazon listed it at $160 as of October 22, 2026. Prices change often, so treat that as a snapshot. On Amazon it currently ranks #1 Best Seller in Electric Scooters. It pairs a 350 W motor and a 187 Wh battery, rated for a claimed range of up to 15 miles and a top speed of 19 mph. We estimate about 7 to 9 miles a charge for a 175 to 180 lb rider at full speed, because advertised ranges are measured with lighter riders at lower speeds. Its 19 mph top speed as shipped is above California's 15 mph scooter limit, so California riders must hold it to 15. New Jersey's legal e-scooter must be under 19 mph, so it is not a legal e-scooter there. It is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the US e-bike classes do not apply. The scooter weighs 26 lb and is rated for riders up to 264 lb. It rides on 8.5-inch honeycomb solid tires, with an electronic E-ABS brake and a rear drum brake. Neither the listing nor the maker states UL 2272 certification. It best suits short, flat rides of a few miles each way on smooth pavement.
Pros
- + Light at 26 lb (the listing's figure)
- + Airless 8.5-inch honeycomb tires cannot go flat
- + Three speed modes (8, 11 and 19 mph) and cruise control in the app
- + 264 lb rider limit, more than the Hiboy S2's 220 lb
Cons
- - Small 187.2 Wh battery: we estimate 7 to 9 miles at full speed
- - No certification stated, and no water (IP) rating
- - Solid tires with no suspension, and no disc brake
- - One listing sells nine scooters under 16 color options, so its ratings are not the Q1's own
Who is this for?
- Short, flat rides of a few miles each way on smooth pavement
- Riders who need to lift a scooter onto a bus or up a short flight of stairs
- Riders up to 264 lb who want a light scooter for errands in dry weather
What the VOLPAM Q1 is, and what the listing gets wrong
VOLPAM's best-selling Amazon listing offers 16 "color" options. They are nine different scooters, one of them a 250 W kids' model, sharing one pool of ratings and one #1 placement in Amazon's Electric Scooters. Only three options are the Q1, which the item details name as model Q1:
| Model | Amazon option names | Motor | Wheels | Claimed range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q1 (this page) | Orange-blackcm, Gray Orange, Green-Blackcm | 350 W | 8.5 in | about 15 mi |
| LP30 | Black Purple, RED04, Grass Green, Purple | 350 W | 8.5 in | 15 to 19 mi |
| S78 | Red01, Matte Red, Pink Red | 350 W | 8.5 in | 21 to 23 mi |
| SPORT | RED02 | 350 W | 8.5 in, front suspension | 19 mi |
| 10SPORT | RED03 | 500 W | 10 in, front suspension | 21 mi |
| SPT6 | Red-Gray | 350 W | 8.5 in, front and rear suspension | 23 mi |
| SP01 | Yellow-balckcm | 500 W | 10 in, dual suspension | 28 mi |
| SP08 | Black Red | 500 W | 10 in | 22 mi |
| C003 (kids') | Yellow-Yellowcm | 250 W | 6.5 in, 10 mph | not stated |
So the title's "350W/500W Motor, 21/28/40 Miles, 8.5"/10" Solid Tire" describes the family, and the Q1 options carry that title too. For the Q1, only 350 W and 8.5 inches apply. The title's 21, 28 and 40 miles, and the 28 miles in the Q1 option's Product information box, are shared figures that cover the family; VOLPAM's own figure for the Q1 is about 15 miles, which is what the bullets and VOLPAM's Q1 page say. A second VOLPAM listing, titled "500W/800W/1000W", also sells the Q1 as its Orange option; no 800 W or 1000 W model appears in either listing.

Speed, power and where you can ride it
Speed, power and where you can ride it
VOLPAM lists a 350 W brushless motor and does not say whether that is a rated or a peak figure; no peak is published. The listing's images show three modes, Eco at 8 mph, Drive at 11 mph and Sport at 19 mph, and the app adds cruise control. VOLPAM's page claims a 15% climb while its own infographic and the Amazon images say 15 degrees, which is about 27%. Those are different claims, so plan on gentle slopes.
Its 19 mph top speed is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit (VTL §114-e) and above California's 15 mph limit for motorized scooters (Vehicle Code §22411), so California riders must hold it to 15 mph; Drive mode's 11 mph sits under that. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the US e-bike classes do not apply. California also requires a driver's license or instruction permit (§21235), and Pennsylvania does not allow e-scooters on public roads.
Battery and real range
Battery and real range
VOLPAM does not publish the Q1's battery size on its own site or on this listing. A sibling Q1 option (Green-Blackcm) states 187.2 Wh and claims 12 to 15 miles; VOLPAM's page says about 15 miles on a 4 to 5 hour charge. No test conditions are published anywhere.
We estimate about 7 to 9 miles at full speed for a 175 to 180 lb rider. That is 187.2 Wh divided by 22 to 27 Wh per mile, the middle half of 32 published full-speed range tests of commuter scooters. In those tests, scooters covered a median 59% of their advertised range, and makers that do publish conditions use 150 to 165 lb riders at about 9 to 10 mph. Riding in Eco or Drive will stretch it. For scale, 187.2 Wh is the same battery size Gotrax gives its 15.5 mph GXL V2.
Ride, brakes and build
Ride, brakes and build
The Q1 rides on 8.5-inch honeycomb tires, which are airless and cannot go flat. VOLPAM describes no suspension (a sibling Q1 option lists it as rigid), so on solid tires every bump reaches the deck. Braking is an electronic E-ABS brake plus a mechanical drum on the rear wheel, with no disc. No water (IP) rating is stated, so keep it out of the rain.
The listing's images say 26 lb; VOLPAM's own page lists 15 kg (33.1 lb) without saying whether that includes packaging. The rider limit is 264 lb per VOLPAM (265 lb in the Amazon images). VOLPAM gives dimensions of 110 x 16 x 52 cm without saying whether they are the folded scooter or the box. Lights are a headlight and a brake light, plus a bell. VOLPAM's warranty runs 12 months or 180 days depending on the part.
Safety: UL 2272 and recalls
Safety: UL 2272 and recalls
No certification stated. Neither the Q1's Amazon listing nor its page on volpam.com mentions UL 2272; the only UL 2272 statement on VOLPAM's site belongs to a different model, the SP01. UL 2272 is the fire and electrical safety standard for scooters. New York City's Local Law 39 requires e-scooters sold, leased or rented in the city to be certified to it (since September 16, 2023), and California's SB 1271 bars the sale of motorized scooters whose battery was not tested to it (since January 1, 2026). If either applies to you, or your building asks for proof, choose a scooter that at least claims UL 2272.
No CPSC recall found for the VOLPAM Q1 as of October 2026 (CPSC recalls). Our electric scooter safety guide covers what to check before you buy.
How it compares
How it compares
- MAXSHOT V1: a bigger battery on paper (37 V × 7.8 Ah, about 289 Wh against 187.2 Wh) and a UL 2272 test claim on its listing, for 5 lb more weight (31 lb). Like the Q1, nearly every spec comes from the Amazon listing alone.
- Hiboy S2: Hiboy publishes a 500 W peak rating, a 36 V × 7.8 Ah battery in its manual (280.8 Wh), its range test conditions, rear shocks, a rear disc brake and IPX4, and its listing states UL 2272 testing by SGS. It weighs 35.5 lb, carries up to 220 lb and cost $299.98 (as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change).
- WERHY H5 ($159.98 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change): #6 in Amazon's Electric Scooters on October 19, 2026, the same 350 W, 19 mph, 8.5-inch solid-tire formula at 30 lb by its listing, with no battery size and no UL 2272 claim.
- Aovowheel Y01 ($158.97 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change): one of the few budget scooters with front and rear shocks, plus a 700 W peak motor and a UL 2272 claim on its listing, but no battery size, and each color option is a different model.
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Buy the Q1 if your rides are short and flat, a few miles each way on smooth pavement, and you want a scooter you can lift: 26 lb on the listing's figure, 5 lb less than the MAXSHOT V1. Choose the Orange-blackcm, Gray Orange or Green-Blackcm option, and check that the item details say model Q1 before you pay.
Skip it if you need more than about 7 miles at full speed, ride rough roads or in the rain, or need UL 2272 for your city or building. Our best electric scooters under $200 guide compares it with other budget picks.

Frequently asked questions
Which VOLPAM listing option is the Q1?
Three of the 16: Orange-blackcm, Gray Orange and Green-Blackcm on VOLPAM's best-selling listing, plus Orange on a second VOLPAM listing whose title claims 500W/800W/1000W. Each is a 350 W, 19 mph scooter with 8.5-inch tires and about 15 miles of claimed range. The other options are eight different models, from the LP30 and S78 to the 10-inch SP01 and SP08 and a 250 W kids' scooter, the C003. Check that the item details say model Q1.
How far does the VOLPAM Q1 go?
We estimate about 7 to 9 miles at full speed for a 175 to 180 lb rider. VOLPAM claims about 15 miles, and one Q1 option says 12 to 15. Our estimate divides the 187.2 Wh battery (stated on a sibling Q1 option) by 22 to 27 Wh per mile, the middle half of 32 published full-speed range tests. The 21, 28 and 40-mile figures in the listing title, and the 28 miles in its Product information box, are shared across the whole family of models; VOLPAM's own Q1 figure is about 15.
How fast is the VOLPAM Q1?
19 mph in Sport mode, with Drive at 11 mph and Eco at 8 mph, according to the listing's images. That is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit and above California's 15 mph limit for motorized scooters, so California riders must keep to 15 mph or less. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the e-bike class rules do not apply.
Does the VOLPAM Q1 have UL 2272?
No certification stated. Neither the Q1's Amazon listing nor VOLPAM's Q1 page mentions UL 2272; VOLPAM's site claims it only for a different model, the SP01. New York City requires UL 2272 certification for e-scooters sold there, and California has required UL 2272 battery testing for motorized scooters sold there since January 1, 2026. No CPSC recall found for the VOLPAM Q1 as of October 2026.
Can the VOLPAM Q1 climb hills?
Gentle ones. VOLPAM's page says 15% and its own infographic says 15 degrees, which is about 27%, so the claim is unclear. With a 350 W motor of unstated rating, no published peak and a 187.2 Wh battery, plan on short, gentle slopes, and expect climbing to cut into the 7 to 9 miles we estimate at full speed on the flat.
How much does the VOLPAM Q1 weigh, and how much can it carry?
26 lb, according to the listing's images, though VOLPAM's own page lists 15 kg (33.1 lb) without saying whether that includes the box. The rider limit is 264 lb per VOLPAM, or 265 lb in the Amazon images. The listing describes it as foldable, but VOLPAM gives no folded size it labels as such.
Wear a helmet on every scooter ride. US emergency rooms saw an estimated 79,300 e-scooter injuries in 2024, and only 18% of injured riders in CPSC's data were wearing one.
