A cargo e-bike is a different category to a regular e-bike. Payload ratings of 400-450 lb mean the frame, brakes, and motor are engineered for daily loaded use. Mid-drive bikes (Bosch CX, Shimano EP6) handle hills better with a load; hub-motor bikes are cheaper and lower-maintenance. Single-battery cargo bikes give 30-50 mi loaded; dual-battery configurations double that.
