Our verdict

6.5
/ 10

The WERHY H5 ($159.98 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change) is one of Amazon's top-10 electric scooters, a 30 lb folding commuter with a 350 W motor, a 19 mph top speed, 8.5-inch solid tires and a claimed 15 miles. Buy it knowing what is missing: WERHY has no website, publishes no battery size and makes no UL 2272 claim, and the listing contradicts itself on suspension. It suits short, flat, dry trips on a tight budget.

The numbers

WERHY H5 Electric Scooter is a folding electric scooter that scores 6.5/10 on our editorial rubric, last verified on October 19, 2026. Amazon listed it at $160 as of October 22, 2026. Prices change often, so treat that as a snapshot. On Amazon it currently ranks #3 Best Seller in Electric Scooters. It pairs a 350 W motor, rated for a claimed range of up to 15 miles and a top speed of 19 mph. Its 19 mph top speed as shipped is above California's 15 mph scooter limit, so California riders must hold it to 15. New Jersey's legal e-scooter must be under 19 mph, so it is not a legal e-scooter there. It is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the US e-bike classes do not apply. The scooter weighs 30 lb and is rated for riders up to 265 lb. It rides on 8.5-inch solid tires, with a front electronic (E-ABS) brake and a rear drum brake. Neither the listing nor the maker states UL 2272 certification. It best suits short, flat, dry trips of a few miles on a tight budget.

Pros

  • + #6 in Amazon's Electric Scooters on October 19, 2026, with 4.3 stars from 437 ratings
  • + 30 lb by the listing, light enough to carry
  • + 265 lb rider limit, higher than the Hiboy S2 (220 lb)
  • + App with a custom top speed, cruise control and a lock

Cons

  • - No battery size published, so the 15-mile claim cannot be checked
  • - No UL 2272 claim on the listing
  • - The listing contradicts itself on suspension
  • - No website, no water rating and no disc brake

Who is this for?

  • Short, flat, dry trips of a few miles on a tight budget
  • Riders up to 265 lb who need a light folding scooter

What the WERHY H5 is, and what the listing gets wrong

WERHY sells on Amazon only; werhy.com does not resolve, and the listing names Huizhou Dinghan Technology Co. as the manufacturer. Its best-selling listing was #6 in Amazon's Electric Scooters on October 19, 2026, with 4.3 stars from 437 ratings shared across five color options. Four of them are the H5, which the item details name as model H5:

Model Amazon option names Motor Top speed Claimed range
H5 (this page) Pink Yellow, Green, Yellow-Black, White Yellow 350 W 19 mph 15 mi
H9 Red01 500 W 22 mph 22 to 25 mi

So the title's "350W/500W Powerful Motor & 8.5''/10'' Tire, Longe Range Up to 16/21/28Miles" describes the family, not the H5. For the H5, only 350 W and 8.5 inches apply. The range is quoted three ways inside the H5's own options: 15 miles in the bullets and the product table, "12-15 miles" in the Green option's bullets, and 25 miles in the Yellow-Black option's table.

The listing also contradicts itself on suspension. One bullet promises "dual front and rear shock absorbing systems"; the product table for the same option says Suspension Type: No. We list no suspension until WERHY settles it.

Speed, power and where you can ride it

WERHY lists a 350 W motor without saying whether that is a rated or peak figure, a 15% climb rating and, per the Green option, a 19 mph top speed. The app sets a custom top speed, cruise control and a lock. Its 19 mph top speed is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit (VTL §114-e) and above California's 15 mph limit (Vehicle Code §22411), so California riders must set a lower top speed in the app. It is not under New Jersey's 19 mph line for a legal e-scooter. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the US e-bike classes do not apply. California also requires a driver's license or instruction permit (§21235), and Pennsylvania does not allow e-scooters on public roads.

Battery and real range

WERHY does not publish the H5's battery size, its voltage or its amp-hours, so we cannot make our usual range estimate, which divides a battery's watt-hours by 22 to 27 watt-hours per mile. What we can say: makers that publish test conditions measure range with a 150 to 165 lb rider at about 9 to 10 mph, and in published full-speed tests scooters covered a median 59% of their advertised range. On a 15-mile claim that points to roughly 9 miles at full speed for an average adult, and less in the cold or on hills. Charging takes 4 to 5 hours, per the listing.

Ride, brakes and build

The H5 rides on 8.5-inch solid tires, which cannot go flat but pass more of the road to your feet, and with no suspension confirmed, expect a firm ride on rough pavement. Braking is an electronic E-ABS brake on the front wheel plus a mechanical drum on the rear; there is no disc. No water (IP) rating is stated, so treat it as a dry-weather scooter. Lights are an LED headlight and a rear warning light.

At 30 lb (per the Green option's bullets; the table gives no weight) it is light enough to carry, and it folds in what WERHY calls three seconds; no folded size is published. The rider limit is 265 lb (264 in one option's bullets). WERHY's warranty is 12 months or 180 days depending on the part.

Safety: UL 2272 and recalls

Neither the listing nor the maker states UL 2272 certification. The only UL 2272 mentions on the listing page belong to ads for other scooters. That matters in New York City, where Local Law 39 requires e-scooters sold there to be certified to UL 2272, and in California, which has required UL 2272 battery testing for motorized scooters sold there since January 1, 2026. If either applies to you, or your building asks for proof, choose a scooter that at least claims it. No CPSC recall found for the WERHY H5 as of October 2026. Our electric scooter safety guide covers what to check.

How it compares

  • WERHY H5 PRO ($169.98 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change): the H5 with front and rear suspension that its listing describes in both the bullets and the product table, at about 33 lb. It shares the H5's gaps: no battery size and no UL 2272 claim.
  • VOLPAM Q1 ($159.98 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change): Amazon's #1, the same 350 W, 19 mph and 8.5-inch solid-tire recipe at about 26 lb. A sibling listing at least states its battery, 187.2 Wh, which we estimate covers 7 to 9 miles at full speed. Like the H5, it states no UL 2272.
  • Hiboy S2 ($299.98 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change): the budget scooter with the paperwork the H5 lacks. Hiboy publishes a 280.8 Wh battery (we estimate 10 to 13 miles), its range test conditions, rear shocks, a rear disc brake and IPX4, and its listing states UL 2272 testing. It weighs 35.5 lb and carries 220 lb.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Buy the H5 if your rides are a few miles on smooth, dry pavement, you weigh under 265 lb, and the price matters more than published specs. Choose a Pink Yellow, Green, Yellow-Black or White Yellow option; Red01 is a different, faster scooter. Skip it if you need UL 2272 for your city or building, ride in the rain, or want to know your range before you buy. Our best electric scooters under $200 guide compares it with the other budget best sellers.

Frequently asked questions

How far does the WERHY H5 go on a charge?

WERHY claims up to 15 miles (12 to 15 in one option's bullets) and publishes no battery size, so we cannot make our usual estimate from watt-hours. In published full-speed tests, scooters covered a median 59% of their advertised range, which on a 15-mile claim points to roughly 9 miles at full speed for an average adult. Riding slower stretches it; cold weather, hills and a heavier rider shrink it.

Is the WERHY H5 350 W or 500 W?

The H5 is 350 W. The listing title says "350W/500W" because it covers the whole family: the Red01 option is a different model, the H9, with a 500 W motor, 22 mph and a 22 to 25-mile claim. The Pink Yellow, Green, Yellow-Black and White Yellow options are the H5, as their item details say.

Does the WERHY H5 have suspension?

The listing contradicts itself. A bullet promises "dual front and rear shock absorbing systems", while the product table for the same option says Suspension Type: No. With 8.5-inch solid tires, plan for a firm ride either way, and favor smooth pavement.

Is the WERHY H5 UL 2272 certified?

Neither the listing nor the maker states UL 2272 certification, and WERHY has no website. If you live in New York City or California, or your building asks for proof of UL 2272, choose a scooter that at least claims it, such as the Hiboy S2. No CPSC recall found for the WERHY H5 as of October 2026.

How fast is the WERHY H5?

19 mph, per the listing. That is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit and above California's 15 mph limit, so California riders must set a lower top speed in the app. It is not under New Jersey's 19 mph line for a legal e-scooter. Pennsylvania does not allow e-scooters on public roads. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the e-bike classes do not apply.
