The facts that matter
The facts that matter
- Speed and power: 12.4 mph in three modes, on a 150 W motor (260 W max) by Segway's rating. The listing says the throttle waits for a 3 mph kick-push. Start new riders in the slowest mode.
- Range and charging: a 21.6 V, 5 Ah battery (108 Wh), rated at 9.3 miles and about 64 minutes with a 132 lb load at 70% of top speed, and a 4-hour charge. Our adult range estimate does not apply.
- Build: 23.6 lb on Segway's spec table (23.1 lb in its feature copy), one-step folding, a three-height handlebar, 7-inch hollow airless tires, a rear drum brake on a hand lever and IPX4.
- Safety: Segway states its scooters are tested to UL 2272 by TÜV Rheinland; we could not verify it in a certifier's directory. No CPSC recall found for the Segway Ninebot C2 Pro as of October 2026; Segway's 2025 recall covered the Max G30P and G30LP adult scooters, not the C2 Pro.
- Helmet: every ride. CPSC estimates e-scooters sent 79,300 people to US emergency rooms in 2024, and only 18% of injured riders in CPSC's data were wearing a helmet. See our scooter safety guide.

Frequently asked questions
What age is the Segway C2 Pro for?
Segway rates it for ages 9 and up, with no upper age, for riders between 3 ft 8 in and 5 ft 6 in and up to 132 lb. Amazon lists a maximum age of 13; we follow Segway, as we do on every kids' page. A child of 6 to 10 under 110 lb fits the smaller C2 Lite instead.
How far does the C2 Pro go on a charge?
Segway rates it at 9.3 miles and about 64 minutes of riding, tested with a full battery and a 132 lb load at 70% of top speed on pavement at 77°F. The battery is 21.6 V and 5 Ah (108 Wh), and a full charge takes about 4 hours. Our usual estimate is built on adult riders, so we give none.
Is the Segway C2 Pro UL 2272 certified?
Segway states its scooters are tested to UL 2272 by TÜV Rheinland; we could not verify it in a certifier's directory. The Amazon listing says it is certified to UL 2272 by TUV Rheinland, and its title adds UL 2271, which Segway's page does not claim. No CPSC recall found for the Segway Ninebot C2 Pro as of October 2026.
