ASKGO's flagship: the only bike in its range with genuine rear suspension, 120 N.m of claimed torque, a battery between 960 and 1,200 Wh depending on which part of the listing you read, and a stated UL 2849 certification. The 30-second verdict

The GT50 is the top of the ASKGO range and the only one with real rear suspension, the bullets describe an "oversized front fork suspension + rear shock absorber", not the front-fork-plus-sprung-seatpost arrangement every other ASKGO calls "full suspension". Add 120 N.m of claimed torque, a stated UL 2849 certification, cruise control and NFC unlock, and at $639.99 this is a lot of machine. It is also the sloppiest listing in the range, and at 36 mph it is not a bicycle in any state.

Three contradictions, and which number we publish

The title and the bullets disagree on the three figures that matter most:

  • Motor: the title says 2500 W peak, the bullets say 3000 W peak
  • Battery: the title says 960 Wh, the bullets say 48 V x 25 Ah, which is 1,200 Wh
  • Tyres: the title says 20" fat, the bullets say 20 x 3, which is not a fat tyre

What is genuinely good about it

The legal position is the clearest in the range, and the worst

Both the title and the bullets agree on 36 mph. There is no reading of US law under which that is a bicycle: Class 3 tops out at 28 mph and is pedal-assist only in most states, and this has a throttle. This is an off-road machine sold on a bicycle listing. Ride it on private land, on OHV trails where your state allows them, and understand that a public bike path is not one of the places it belongs. Yes, and it is the only ASKGO that does. The bullets describe an "oversized front fork suspension + rear shock absorber". Every other bike in the range uses the phrase "full suspension" to mean a front fork plus a sprung seatpost, which damps vibration through the saddle and does nothing for the rear wheel's grip. On the GT50 the rear wheel is actually suspended, and over rough ground that is a different bike.

Why does the listing give two different motor and battery figures?

We do not know, and we publish the conservative figure for that reason. The title says 2500 W peak and 960 Wh; the bullets say 3000 W peak and 48 V x 25 Ah, which is 1,200 Wh. Our spec fields carry the smaller numbers. If the bullets are accurate you are getting more than we credit; you are not getting less.
