Our verdict
The Roinside UP2P ($151.99 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change) is a light, low-cost 19 mph folding scooter with one big gap: no certification stated, and no Roinside website to check the listing against. On paper it weighs 22 lb, carries riders up to 265 lb and stops with a front electronic brake plus a rear disc. It suits short trips for buyers who accept listing-only specs.
- Best for
- Riders under 265 lb making short trips who need to carry a scooter up stairs

The numbers
Roinside UP2P Electric Scooter is a folding electric scooter that scores 6.5/10 on our editorial rubric, last verified on October 19, 2026. Amazon listed it at $152 as of October 22, 2026. Prices change often, so treat that as a snapshot. On Amazon it currently ranks #5 Best Seller in Electric Scooters. It pairs a 350 W motor, rated for a claimed range of up to 16 miles and a top speed of 19 mph. Its 19 mph top speed as shipped is above California's 15 mph scooter limit, so California riders must hold it to 15. New Jersey's legal e-scooter must be under 19 mph, so it is not a legal e-scooter there. It is under New York's 20 mph e-scooter limit. Scooters are not e-bikes, so the US e-bike classes do not apply. The scooter weighs 22 lb and is rated for riders up to 265 lb. It rides on 8.5-inch solid tires, with rear suspension and a front electronic (E-ABS) brake and a rear disc brake. Neither the listing nor the maker states UL 2272 certification. It best suits riders under 265 lb making short trips who need to carry a scooter up stairs.
Pros
- + Light on paper: 22 lb, with a 265 lb rider limit (listing figures)
- + Front electronic brake plus a rear disc brake, and rear suspension per the listing
- + Solid 8.5-inch tires that never need inflating
Cons
- - No certification stated: no UL 2272 claim from the listing or any maker page
- - No Roinside website, and the two UP2P listings disagree on weight and rider limit
- - No battery voltage stated, so real range cannot be estimated
Who is this for?
- Riders under 265 lb making short trips who need to carry a scooter up stairs
- Budget buyers who accept listing-only specs for a 19 mph folder
What it is
The UP2P was #4 in Amazon's Electric Scooters on October 18, 2026, in a listing family that pools ratings across at least six Roinside models. The UP2P is the 350 W, 19 mph, 16-mile one, on 8.5-inch solid tires, and the listing's Product information box lists rear suspension. We found no Roinside website, so every figure here is the listing's claim, and the two UP2P listings disagree on weight (22 or 23 lb) and rider limit (265 or 264 lb).

The facts that matter
The facts that matter
- Motor: 350 W, rated or peak not stated. The listing claims a 25% climb.
- Battery and range: the listing gives 5.2 Ah but no voltage, so we cannot work out the watt-hours or estimate real range. The 16-mile claim has no test conditions. Charging takes 4 to 5 hours.
- Water: the listing claims IP65, unusually high at this price, with no maker document behind it.
- Safety: No certification stated. That matters in New York City (Local Law 39 requires UL 2272 for scooters sold there) and California (SB 1271 has required UL 2272 battery testing for motorized scooters sold there since January 1, 2026). No CPSC recall found for the Roinside UP2P as of October 2026.
- Riding: its 19 mph top speed is under the 20 mph cap in New York's e-scooter definition (VTL §114-e) but above California's 15 mph limit (Vehicle Code §22411). Scooters are not e-bikes, so the US e-bike classes do not apply.
Who it suits
Who it suits
Riders under 265 lb who want a light scooter for short trips and can live with specs only the seller vouches for. If a maker that documents its scooter matters more, the Hiboy S2 ($299.98 as of Oct 22, 11:10 AM EDT, subject to change) comes with a Hiboy-published manual and its range test conditions (a 165 lb rider at 11.4 mph on flat ground at 77°F).

Frequently asked questions
Is the Roinside UP2P UL 2272 certified?
No certification stated. The UP2P listing makes no UL 2272 claim in its title or bullets, and we found no Roinside website that makes one. UL 2272 is the fire and electrical safety standard for scooters: New York City requires it for scooters sold there, and California has required UL 2272 battery testing for motorized scooters sold there since January 1, 2026. If that matters to you, choose a scooter whose maker or listing states it.
How far does the Roinside UP2P go on a charge?
The listing claims up to 16 miles and gives no test conditions. We cannot estimate real range, because the listing states the battery as 5.2 Ah without a voltage, and range follows watt-hours. Makers that do publish their conditions test with a 150 to 165 lb rider at about 9 to 10 mph on flat ground, and in published full-speed tests scooters covered a median 59% of their advertised range.
Which colors in the Roinside listing are the UP2P?
Only two of the nine swatches in the Roinside family are the UP2P: Pink02 and Pink05. The others are different scooters (the UP2G, UP6, UP8Pro, UP12 and a model "30") with different batteries and ranges, and the UP12 has a 500 W motor and a 22 mph top speed. The ratings are pooled across all of them, so check the model number on the listing before you buy.
Wear a helmet on every scooter ride. US emergency rooms saw an estimated 79,300 e-scooter injuries in 2024, and only 18% of injured riders in CPSC's data were wearing one.
