Are Vivi e-bikes good? The honest answer

Vivi is a budget direct-to-consumer brand, and after reviewing twelve of its bikes our answer is: good value, with caveats you should walk in knowing. The consistent strengths across the line: UL 2849 battery-system certification on every current model we've reviewed (genuinely rare under $500, and the certification strict cities and apartment landlords ask about), step-through and folding frames that fit real bodies, and pricing that undercuts the big direct brands by $300–700 for comparable spec sheets.

The caveats, printed here because their store won't: wattage marketing leads with peak numbers (a "1500W" Vivi is a 750 W rated bike, and the rated figure is the one that keeps it street-legal); range claims are optimistic (our watt-hour arithmetic typically lands at half the brochure figure, and we print both numbers in every review); and the cheaper models carry the usual budget-tier hardware: mechanical brakes and basic displays. None of that is disqualifying at these prices. It is worth knowing before you click buy.

Are Vivi e-bikes street legal in the US?

The current lineup we rank is Class 2 (20 mph) or Class 3 (25 mph pedal-assist), all inside the federal 750 W rated cap, so yes, street-legal as e-bikes. Class 2 models are license-free in every state except New Jersey; Class 3 models (ACE01, ACE01 Pro, F26FUL) add age/helmet rules and aren't recognised in seven jurisdictions, so check yours with our legality checker.

Are Vivi batteries UL certified?

Every current Vivi we've reviewed carries UL 2849 e-bike system certification (SGS-tested, usually printed in the listing title), and the ACE01, the ACE01 Pro and the 20" folder add UL 2271 for the battery pack itself. That combination is what strict cities and apartment buildings ask about, and it's genuinely uncommon at Vivi's prices.

How fast do Vivi e-bikes go?

Most of the range is Class 2: 20 mph with throttle or pedal assist. The ACE01 and ACE01 Pro pedal-assist to 25 mph (Class 3 territory) with throttles still capped at 20 mph. Ignore "1500W" peak marketing; the rated 500–750 W figures are what define the legal top speeds.
